A Bit About Me
My name is Katherine, but I’ve always gone by Kristy. Except for one month in fourth grade, which did not stick.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent more than twenty years working in Human Resources across the tech, advertising, and banking industries. While I valued supporting people in a corporate setting, I realized the kind of helping I felt called to do wasn’t possible there. That realization led me to University of San Francisco to earn my Master's degree in Counseling Psychology. With each day I get to practice therapy, I'm reminded that this work is exactly where I'm meant to be.
I continue to be amazed by people's capacity for resilience, connection, and change, especially when they have a space where they don't have to pretend they have it all figured out. Few things are more meaningful to me than helping someone make sense of their experiences and discover new ways of relating to themselves and the people they love.
No matter if I'm working with a child, a teenager, an adult, or a couple/people in relationship, my goal is to create a space where you feel safe enough to be yourself, supported enough to explore, and empowered to move toward the life and relationships you want.
When I'm not in the therapy office, I'm someone who notices the small, beautiful and whimsical things in everyday life. That same sense of curiosity and presence is something I bring into every session.
